If it aint Scottish, it's crrrap! Scotland, it's my country, so I thought I'd give it a try and see why tourists come here for their holiday. My South-East Asia travel partner Mr Dwayne Dinn had kept his promises to visit my home country within a year. Dwayne arrived on the early hours of Saturday morning on the 17th September 2005. I was waiting bright and early at Glasgow's International Airport. I had woken up at 4am! It was great to see Dwayne walk through the Arrival's hall, I was happy to be re-uniting with my long lost friend from Canada.
Eight days to cover our trip, Scotland is pretty easy compared to other countries. But then again, I live here so I'd be used to it. One thing for Dwayne was to get used to the drivers driving on the left hand side of the road. In this travel, Dwayne would experience the two biggest cities in Scotland - Glasgow and Edinburgh. Dwayne will live the urban life, which most people don't associate Scotland with. And he will visit the tranquil rural town of the Highlands. So it's an all-adventure packed weekend, from shopping, drinking, clubbing to walking, trekking and sight seeing... not to mention the world famous Loch Ness.
One thing you should try is the Haggis, something Dwayne chickened out. It's not as bad as it sounds, tastes like prime burger if you ask me... though I prefer burgers. Dwayne was fascinated with Greggs, the fastfood bakers if you would call it. Dwayne also tried our Irn Bru for the first time, as always, well impressed. Welcome to the Scotland Travel page, it is now split up into three journal and photo galleries, don't forget to visit them all!
