December 2004

In December 2004, Dwayne and I flew into Hong Kong. I arrived at night and my train/bus took a detour around the city. The streets were glittered in Christmas lights and trees. It was very Christmassy! The effort this city puts into is quite unbelievable. During our time in Hong Kong, we climbed the stairs to see the marvellous giant buddah in the Lantau Islands, strolled along the scenic Victoria Harbour, took the tram up to Victoria Peak, eaten loads of great food and done lots of gadget shopping! I also spent a day in Macau with my friends. I have family relatives in Hong Kong so it was nice to see them once again. Everyone's changed, I barely get to see them! There's so much to do in this busy clean city. The city's transport system is one of the best in the world with plenty of methods to choose from. Hong Kong is a working city... so where do all the people go when they need to chill? People here love their karaokes, there are chains everywhere, Winnie and I visited a few, quite fun but can be quite boring if you can't sing chinese songs. English songs are available. Winnie and I also took a trip to the Wong Tai Sing Temple (spelling?) where our fortunes was told... again it was a load of bull... did not make sense (I was suppose to meet a beautiful girl by christmas) previous fortunes also included that I may die young... so I have to enjoy every moment now. Really, I've given up... infact I never did believe in fortune telling... I was dragged their twice, once by David and Winnie. And it costs a fortune! What's the point? Just let nature be... Anyway, my advice, never go to fortune tellers, just let fate guide you. Hong Kong is lovely but I started hating it purely because one of it's well known internet shop decides to delete all my Hong Kong photos, thus including lovely ones of Dwayne and I on the Victoria Peak, harbour, Lantau Islands - I was so upset. That day Dwayne left aswell so I was all by myself. Winnie came to my aid which I am really thankful of, now that we share a flat together in Glasgow UK.
