26 December 2006 : I've Adopted A Lion!

After being titled an old fogey last night on my 25th Birthday on 'the' 25th December, I spent this evening in Helensburgh.

Last night, after work (yes, I was working), I joined my friends in CHLC for our annual Christmas/Birthday get-together. It was a special one as everyone from Winnie, Mei, Fifi, to Judy and Gordon had made every effort for a Christmas re-union. There was the exchange of gifts through our Secret Santa in which I was very chuffed about my gift so thank you Secret Santa!

I spent today in Helensburgh as Alan was cooking me Christmas dinner and the presents I got were.. in order of unwrapping, a) Eva Longoria Calendar! b) Adopted A Lion inc. Lion teddy.. awe.. and last but not least, c) Nintendo Wii!!! Thanks!!!!!

Alan was unwell later in the evening. I made sure he got some rest. Thus, I decided to type up this blog and put the finishing touches to my China Travel Journal and Gallery, I hope you enjoy it. I know I left it too late!

12 December 2006 : All I Want For Christmas...

What would be an ideal Christmas? Spending quality family time and be with your loved one.

Looks like this year I may well be working on that special day, and why is it a special day I hear you say? It will be my 22nd Birthday!! I don't seem to mind much this year as I really need the money, is it time that the novelty of Christmas has brushed away from me?

Today I started my Christmas shopping, I manage to buy one gift for that special person and no it may not be the person you are thinking of... It is ofcourse Ashton, my baby nephew. I still have a few more to buy including my Secret Santa! Here's my only hint, there's a photo of this person on this website!

Christmas can feel lonely, so my advice is to be with you loved one if not your friends. I look forward to spending more time with my friends over the festive season.

Merry Crimbo!

19 November 2006 : Crash

It's been a mad fortnight. First there was that Halloween party at Luke's flat. Alan and I rushed into John Lewis that day to buy fabric for our infamous Caveman costume. For those who remember, yes this is my second year running, I promise to be more creative next year.

While Alan left us for life down south (without holding a proper leaving do), Davide arrived and cheered me up with some long due clubbing.

Last week, I was involved in a car crash, nobody was hurt. Our car swerved straight into the middle barriers of the East Kilbride expressway knocking off three poles. The tyre on the driver's side was gone and everything outside looked badly damaged except there was no glass smashed nor did the engine seemed damaged. We were in a state of shock as we waited for the police, we were stuck in the middle lane. Thankfully, there was no vehicle behind us.

Within the fortnight was also our Danny's birthday. My tea buddy had turned 24 and we all went out to party. We started at Meela's flat where she was hosting a Kwoktail party, this was then followed by Karbon where the talk of the night gave light to our wee pussy... Cat. Also, I have to mention the fact that Danny was sick four times. Bet he forgot I was there looking after him all that night (photos available on request).

It's also been a week where I spent some time with my cousin Karen, who has left Glasgow for London and will soon be returning to Hong Kong after a short trip to Belgium. I wish her all the best in the future, one of a few cousins I still keep intouch with these days.

Baby Ashton is looking bigger by the day. It's been a week since I last saw him so I've noticed a big difference in him. He is so cute, I love watching him.

Tea for Tuesdays is still going but for how long...? (TeaClub)

So the week ahead, well there is the big wedding. Anita and Dickson, I wish them all the best and look forward to the big day.

3 November 2006 : Last Day With Alan

Alan is moving to Swindon tomorrow so I spent the day with him before he left to have dinner with his parents. Alan has done alot over the past year including his amazing year in China and I wish him all the best down south. I can't wait to join you very soon.

Baby Ashton

Baby Ashton was born last week on the 23rd October, check out some of the cute photos in his first few days in the Ashton page.

Apologees for the lack of updates.

Coming soon, China photos.

2 June 2006 : Farewell Edinburgh

Today marks my last full day in Edinburgh. Although originally I was suppose to leave two days ago, I have delayed it further till tomorrow. I've had a great week, we've been out almost every night. Last night we went to our favorite, Cargo, and our lovely Jenny from Glasgow came along with her Kilmarnock posse. It was nice to see her, made me realise just how much fun it was being with her. We got alot of photos taken along with Davide, Linn, Sera, Vivianna and Linda. Will put the photos up as soon as I get them. We hit town as soon as our last exam finished and been out nearly every night since. It's been great to chill and spend my last few days with my friends. Met up with Mark who was in his suit and my WHSmith bud, Brodie. This has been my second year in Edinburgh and its been an amazing experience. Again I have met loads of lovely people who I hope I will keep intouch with. I can't wait till Graduation day and nightout! I hope by running this website, friends all over will be able to stay intouch with me for many years to come.

Just three days until I catch my flight! My China Travel page is now open. So long!

27 May 2006 : Our First Anniversary - Just over a week to China

Today is our first Anniversary. I got a lovely surprise from when I got back home today. A rose and a box of chocolates. Today also marked our last exam ever at uni, everyone is going out getting drunk. This is my last week in Edinburgh and it's going to be a very emotional one. Can't believe that is student life over for me, it looks like from now on life is just going to be work, work, work.

12 April 2006 : Journey To The East - China - Ancient History, Prosperous Future

In June, I will be travelling to one of the biggest and fastest growing countries in the world. China. I will be reuniting and living with Alan for a month. I can't wait, this gives me great a opportunity to travel and experience another beautiful country. I will see in my own eyes what makes this country one of the most talked about in recent years. From my travels, I have learnt to adapt to local cultures, I can't wait to get a taste of this in China. I will be looking forward to seeing Alan and his gang from the British Council, not to mention the fake designer goods! The countdown begins, as you can see in my homepage. A new China diary page is coming soon. Please drop me a message in my Guestbook.

6 April 2006 : MySpace.com/ph2o

I've decided to join the latest craze that is MySpace. I am finding so many people on it including friends who I've not met for ages, friends from my travels, exs and celebrities such as the lovely Louise Redknapp herself. I've even found Michael Jackson but have not added him. If you are on MySpace, add me! My MySpace address http://www.myspace.com/ph2o. Other boring news, I will be working on my dissertation over the Easter holidays so I won't be having a much needed break.

5 April 2006 : Black Tuesday, The Day After Yesterday

Yesterday was not a nice day. Left a Lecture only to be told off. Signed up to a presentation only to find out it was in another campus and turn up in the end of it.

And my iPod died suddenly. Today is a new day. Somehow, my iPod came back from the dead. Mark is coming up to visit. And Desperate Housewives is on tonight:-)

27 March 2006 : 80p Journey Now Costs A Quid!

Edinburgh Lothian Buses have decided that there should be a single flat fare of £1. How rediculous! Buses in Manchester cost £2 for a whole week! The buses go on strike tomorrow as part of a national Industrial Action.

25 March 2006 : Happy Mother's Day - Clocks Go Forward - No Smoking Scotland

Tomorrow is a busy day. I arranged Flowers to be delivered so hopefully she receives them on time. Happy Mother's Day! Don't forget clocks go forward so we lose an hour of quality sleep. Also, tomorrow marks the begining of the Smoking ban in public places. Hooray!

18 March 2006 : Surprise Announcement Alan Back In 2 Weeks!

Alan has announced he is coming back to the UK for two weeks following a job interview. I wish him all the best. All importantly, I can't wait to see him again.

Was out last night regrettably. Making me feel tired all day long. I have a burden of uni work to get through. We just had a group presentation 'The Apprentice' style on Friday and on Monday there's a dreadful debate going. Alltogether nicely with my dissertation - not! I am stressed, a good enough reason to get pissed, oh and it's St Paddy's day. I've been stuck in the lab all day. I am now getting ready for the gym.

03 March 2006 : Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow...

Jingle Bells... you'd think it's Christmas all over again. Just the other day I 'reported' how it is now officially Spring! Can't believe it's March already. I can't wait till the weather changes, can't stand this freezer. Watched Walk The Line with Davide and Lynn last night at the soon to be closed Cameo. It's a shame cos its a nice cinema but the place was stinking. There was also the stupid boy in the Popcorn counter who took his bloody time serving everyone. Anyway, enough of the rant. Today, as usual, I phoned Alan, he had a crap day cos he dropped all of his shopping in the middle of Shanghai and no China men came to help. Instead, they all stood there pointing and staring at him. Do they have any manners? Apparently, according to The Guardian published this week (see how this ties in). The Government of China has ordered its people to stop spitting on the streets in the wake of the 2008 Olympics. That was another rant innit? Well, I am in uni now and I am going to 'try' and do some work.

Oh... and the movie was good, got abit bored with all the singing but Reese Witherspoon did do a good, it's no wonder she's been nominated an Oscar. I also got the new GQ yesterday, it's got the gorgeously sexy Eva Longoria!!! Enjoy the weekend.

01 March 2006 : Spring, and it's official!

Did ya all enjoy your pancakes yesterday? Today is officially Spring! Feel the snow chill down your spine. I went on to everyones space today, didny know there was that much, think I nearly replied to them all. I am in uni, trying to work but obviously not. Apparently, Abbey National, Sainsbury's and Wetherspoon's are preparing for Bird Flu. What could they possibly do? I say enjoy your chickens now before we kill them all.

1 March 2006 : Following Your Dream

Life grows and people move on. Winnie left the country yesterday to pursue her dreams and career in Hong Kong. I will miss her very much. Not only she's been the best flatmate, she's also my soulmate and wife (remembering the days I was ordered to call her wife)

Goodluck Winnie on your new journey in Hong Kong. We will all miss you very much. Missing the times we spent living together, how you were always there for me. You are a wonderful person and that really shines when people get to know you. I'm wishing you all the best. Keep intouch. I hope it won't be long we meet again. Just don't change, you're luvly the way you are. Lots and lots of love. Xx

24 February 2006 : Site Re-opens

What are my doing here on a Friday night? Well, dissertation supposedly. I am feeling tired and I've barely even started. Think I'll sleep on it tonight. Look at what my Valentine's got me, a soft wee teddy and a rose. Xx
